RECIPE for PLAYING GOLF by Gary Ley

The recipe for playing golf well
preaching to my students I yell.

'Enjoy your golf, even when things go wrong,
don't wallow,let it go,that'll keep you on-song'.
Refers to all things in general
& prevents you going too mental.

GOLF PERFECTION by GARY LEY

Original drawing by Gary Ley

Can you achieve golf perfection?
Can it be an actual realization?
Or will it be only in the imagination!
Firstly know your own limitation,
listening to a sensible expectation.
Keep inside levels of anticipation
& learning curve consideration.
Allow the unavoidable imperfection
that brings the inevitable frustration.
This will go with continual dedication
through practice & heaps of motivation.
Don't over do it ,as creates complication,
or by over elaborating and analysation.
Stick to the basic swing simplification
relying on the club weight gravitation,
that provides natural swing satisfaction.
Thus by omitting the impossible perfection
produces your own level of perfection.

All Round Golfer by Gary Ley

The all round golfer is made up of five bits,
which generates those fantastic shots & hits.
Rhythm's a must for smoothest of the blows
all the way from the head down to the toes.
The Stance's important,it's the very foundation
as it places your legs on to a stable location.
Postures up next and is the same through out
whether hitting a wood or iron with some clout.
The Swing is one of the hardest to master
things tend to go wrong if you try to go faster.
Concentration helps the game to become clear
consistency results and takes away any fear.
Individuality is the last element of the puzzle
and even though we may get into a muddle
with our stance not looking like any others
not even your golfing buddies & brothers,
or the swing being so in and out like a lasso
resembling a picture by the late artist picasso.
We're all made so differently as we're told
not necessarily all cast from the same mould.
There are always those exceptions to the rule
and changing any natural tendencies is cruel.
Also wouldn't it be an absolute crying shame
not to stamp your own way on to this game.

3 Tips on How to Start in Golf by Gary Ley

Golf is one of the most hardest games around
it can eat you up,grinding you into the ground.
So here I have three things on your to do list,
1st, book a golfing lesson and give me a visit.
New comers committing to one or maybe two
to build up grip, posture swing & follow through.
Even regular players need to brush up on things
when problems arise and the bad shot it brings.
Secondly purchase all the correct equipment
that suits all individual budget commitment.
Again for some further advice on this subject
just ring Gary for clubs to be correctly checked.
Thirdly too leave the range to play on the grass,
what type of golf course & club fits your class.
Not the up bringing bit, yet may come into it
but your standard of playing and the balls hit.
Now a lot of time needs to be taken in this field,
as some members may request you quit & yield.
So on this matter be guided by one of the best,
refer to Ley who'll tell you how to pass this test.

Course Management by Gary Ley

Managing the least amount of shots
per round thus eliminate taking lots
is much easier said than done
for the most of us and some
Therefore note these basic rules
so not to finish up like fools
Only ever take out the driver
when the fairway is much wider
than at least four big buses
or end up in the trees & bushes,
or maybe rolling into the traps,
definitely resulting in game lapse
Best to plot your way around
slow & boring 'yes' but at least it's sound
advice when playing golfs' stroke play.
Yet there is the fact of match play
and also when playing just for fun
with your mates or even with no-one
Thank goodness for these exceptions
to the rules and the ideas & perceptions
of blasting away taking each hole
as it comes without taking its toll.
